HE FINALLY DID IT GUYS In case it's of interest: Azuma's big confession （まじかよ久慈あいしてる！！）uses the full-blown, [typically] serious "aishiteru", not the garden-variety "suki". Curiously enough, this doesn't use kanji （愛してる）- maybe to add a layer of ambiguity, but that's just speculation on my part.
