The kids with rop aren't human.. Maybe half human but how their eyes look like they surly not completely human. And I'm sure we will see them again hope as friend and allies.

I don't think it's past live it's the storyline for the game.. Also the event happened when he grow up while not talking and making bonds with his brother (at first chapters his brothers said they didn't talk to him much after their mother death) so maybe one of the reasons.
