I initially jumped to the same conclusion that much of this thread has, but I don't think that was Taku in the opening bit - he's not quitting. In the first place, the panel notably didn't show the character's face. That's a pretty strong hint all by itself. Beyond that, if Taku was quitting...

I hadn't thought about it, but she is sort of an older version of Renge. They share an oddly serious approach to fun and an unusual conception of what actually is fun, and somehow the people around them end up actually having fun, in spite of the fact that they generally don't even understand...

I'm okay with that. This manga has been a weird but enjoyable combination of goofy, serious, lewd, wholesome and surreal all along, so even though the ending felt sort of axed-rushed, it wasn't like it was all that far out of line with the rest of the manga. And it did tie up all the loose ends.

That was a great chapter. So many pleasing slices of so many lives.

Well - I owe an apology to all of the people I was deriding a few chapters back because they had already decided that the ending was going to suck. You were right.

I can't figure out what Chiaki's endgame is here. She apparently already got her revenge against her killer, but that part of it was just glossed over, as if it wasn't even all that important. The really important thing to her seems to be for Ryouhei to die. But why? Why is that so vital to her?

Holy shit - nine pages of angry douchebags wailing about an ending that hasn't even happened yet. I'm just looking forward to seeing what's going to happen next. I have no idea, but after 198 chapters of quality storytelling, I fully expect it to be quality storytelling, whatever it is.
