imo it's less the fault of the manga and more the fact that Game Freak/TPC had/have been releasing new games way too quickly, and since the manga is part avenue to promote the games, they've been given much less time to make actual cohesive and thought out narratives. It's really a shame, but...

This People getting pissy about region locking manga must forget that official publishers can't just publish chapters and volumes worldwide, they need permission from the original rights holders and locally within each country/region too, otherwise they'd likely get sued to hell and back...

I didn't see the original translation (or the backlash of its quality), but no matter how good or bad the TL is, I'm honestly just glad that someone's picking this back up.

Likely because it's the legal, officially licensed released, as opposed to unofficial fanscans. And Viz is the best of the bunch with their Shonen Jump and Viz Manga sites/apps, as they're 3 and 2 bucks a month USD, respectively, with the 3 most recent chapters being free.
