When Kaede saw Akane talking on the phone with Yamada inside the room, I bet she realized that Akane already has someone that could really make her feel at ease. That is why she volunteered to see Akane off instead of Takaya to avoid some drama and because she knows Akane really loves her boyfriend.
I only want one thing for Akane, that is for her to be on guard with other guys. She's way too vulnerable because she's too friendly with other guys. The author seems to like putting Akane to dangerous situations like this over and over again.
Akane really is too naive around guys. She really needs to set up some boundaries around guys even just a little, she's way too comfortable and vulnerable. Typical shoujo plot I guess
