They're really trying to make us sympathize for a group of villains who play with oni's lives like it's nothing. They look exactly like humans outside of the blood trait so it's kind of hard to sympathize with the momotarou, even by shounen standards.
Very doubtful that the other Japanese girl had a pure soul if she immediately thought of transferring her miasma to another human by deceiving them but every one of these stories need an incorrigible scummy antagonist right?
@reanseih I don't doubt it, it's just that everything you see on novelupdates is straight up wish-fulfillment. I enjoyed it when I picked my first ones up like BTTH and ISSTH but the more I read the more the stories all seemed to blend and become repetitive. I think even the ones I enjoy aren't...

Question remains, why up the power scaling this hard? Everything he tried to aim for is rendered pointless since we're now heading to wuxia levels of universal powers which is definitely not my cup of tea. The established lore and fantasy setting can safely be tossed aside now, we're heading in...
One pet peeve with these villain stories is that the original protagonist of the story doesn't act like a protagonist at all. They're never as cunning, as meticulous nor as tenacious in cultivating as actual xianxia protagonists. It's boring because the roles are just reversed and instead the...
