I normally hate the "crazy lil sister wants brother romantically" schtick, but this gets points for both making her not actual sister & having our lead gal be so much stronger so she isn't a threat.
It could still get old fast, but I'm surprisingly good with it for now.
So, is she gonna get off scott-free when this is done?
She is a traitor and her actions have led to an invasion and death, but pathos demands a hasty redemption arc and forgiveness for all things in stories lately.
This is pretty standard overall, but like PechWild pointed out - three chapters in and he grasps the truth of his situation and looks to be ready to move forward...
If the author actually runs with that, this will stand out for that alone.
I always find these sort of "holy" kingdoms amusing in stories with confirmed deities around. Racist, greedy, violent, and uncaring about the well-being of the citizens - in the name of god(s)...
