I think they may have found it difficult to place this part in the story board between Ash getting injured and waking up. And that doing it flashback style would help the manga flow better. That's the only reason I can think of for doing it this way.
To be fair to the story, the kid was seconds away from becoming twins with Vemon Snake. If George hadn't appeared he would have probably died, or at least lost the arm.
Also it wasn't a pointy stick but the top half of a spear that he jammed in the soft mouth of the beast at the cost of his arm.
I can't quite remember what is happening anymore, I just remember I liked reading this manga. Maybe I'll read it from the beginning sometime, but I find it hard to follow anymore. Especially with the long time between parts.
I'm almost certain that bricks have been around longer than complex wood construction such as daubed houses. Bricks can literally be as simple as hardened mud blocks. It doesn't even have to be fired ash and clay bricks. :bleh:
Never ruin the father daughter dynamic. Aku is an orphan and needs a dad, Maou-sama needs someone to care for to keep him human. No need to change this beautiful dynamic.
