I might be dumb but I just got this. So Yuuma never did the 100th ghost story but Hina still did (it’s actually her first one) so she could meet him huh. Full circle in a way.
Thank you for taking the time to explain.
Yeah this is actually really inconsistent with early Q.E.D, Toma was also supposed to never have friends except Loki, and even Loki was depicted as never fully understanding or getting close to him. But I guess the author forgot / decided to change this lol.
Lore inconsistency aside tho this is...
Agreed, very unfortunate, it feels like it was just intended to end with the friendship end back then and the author kept going because it was popular.
The VN/Otome game (the irl one not the one in the story) gave them a decent ending at least.
I took it more as “the jester will cry for a king worth crying for” but there has never been one, because all of them are like this king where at the start he wanted to do good but ended up getting blinded by power.
But that’s just my guess.
Yasu is an asshole but this is such a good introduction to presumption of innocence and objectivity in conducting an investigation. How the hell did the new guy become a police like that lol
Surprised to see the negativity in the comment section here lol. Another outstanding chapter for me. Q.E.D is at its best when the tricks take a backseat and it focuses more on the human element. Love to see Alan’s character development too.
One of the best chapters in the manga imo, read this as a kid years ago and it really changed my perspective on identity vs. how we are perceived by society. Made me see my grandparents in a different way too (not that my grandparents are three-timing people lol but how they used to be young too...
