Big reason for Shikimori having been so big and popular was BECAUSE they were already a couple so the focus was on the relationship fluff. But yeah way too many series do dumb shit like that or some variation.
Great chapter as always and still not getting where all you even see the mom yuri AT ALL since they don't even have that kind of chemistry going on(more like Vitriolic Best Buds).
Theo is aiming for the Top 3 spot in his class which gives him to pick his own office. Togid is trying to sabotage that likely to put Theo in his own office or some other he thinks he'll be most useful for whatever plan they have going on.
I don't really get that vibe from Luxi's mom. My take is that she just wants Luxi to not have to go through the poverty and the limits it imposes on you and your life as well as the trauma. I 100% that she needed(and still needs) a friend to confide in.
Yeah I don't get the shipping either since it was made pretty clear that Tong Tong's mom is VERY straight not just given her tilt towards fawning over a ton of male actors but also her very direct self-intro where she SAYS she's straight and has no idea how to proceed giving Tong Tong any good...
Pretty sure the "Sedona" in the one-shot was an early younger Xtoh Seros, but with a blend of both their personalities. It's the same for Cauicha having a much closer personality to Medina's and Anzu being more similar to Nanako in her rage towards those who abuse books.
We don't fully KNOW...
I've read ahead for over a month, but even then I thought it was pretty obvious that this is how things were gonna pan out for Luxi and her mom for a long time now.
I disagree about him resenting her and more that he resented how people perceive the whole "genius" aspect of her and how it affects expectations of him. Like people EXPECT him to be good/great at the things SHE was simply because he's her son even though that's mindless BS reasoning and not how...
Except with every single advantage that Hikaru has, there's no reason to buy into the idea that she wont continue to uncontestedly dominate. Only ways are all author fiats like fluke injuries and whatnot. I also don't like the "shining light" comment as I feel in neuters every other emotional...
Honestly I would prefer THAT over what we're likely to get of the whole inspiration thing and Inori's issues being sorted from watching Hikaru's performance as it trivilializes her relationships with her coaches and family especially Tsukasa and Mika and other skaters she looks up to like Iruka...
Yeah that's what I'm seeing. Her thought process comes from a good place(just wants her daughter to be safe and okay), but it's getting badly warped with repressive conformity and lack of acceptance due to societal fear of persecution. Combine it with the generational trauma of growing up in...
Realistically, no. Series jumped the shark HARD with Hikaru. It's telegraphing the "author fiat" win way too much and way too hard that there's no way to view Inori winning without a sort asterisk to it.
Maybe it's just me, but I think the fact that Tong Tong's mom didn't grow up in rural poverty and seems to be a Glamorous Single Mother to Lin Luxi's Struggling Single Mother might be a big point of important contrast.
