I don't disagree with the sentiment, Mangamoz, but I'm pretty sure he didn't slap her across the face, but simply batted her hand away before she could touch him. While the panels on pages 11 & 12 aren't the clearest, I feel like a lot more emphasis would have been given to a face slap.
I think she has a vague idea of his plan to confess to her, and it's out of love & respect for his efforts that she's waiting for him, rather than spoiling it.
