Same here!
And the funny thing is, the trick with the water is exactly how Kate defeated Maryrose/Rosemary way back during the Phantom subplot - Rosemary and Barbie at least seem to have remembered it and learned from it! :)
I'd forgotten the next chapter was delayed on a hiatus, I had been a little anxious the last couple weeks wondering where the next chapter was! :D
I think that at least half the fun of a Yura chapter is seeing the startled expression on Yura's face when the other girls out-troll her, and I...
"Did you know that shadows can't leave Soot Island?" - Rosemary
"WHAT? What are you on about?" - Ryan
"Nevermind." - Rosemary
That little exchange kinda speaks volumes on what Ryan and the other "adults" don't know about the world outside of the fortified safety of their third-floor...
"His vital functions have just ceased." - Evelyn
It seems his soot-power was barely keeping him stitched back together for as long as he wasn't spread too thin, but getting washed away was just a step too far for even Ryan.
Now, I agree that the more thoughtful approach to problem-solving...
I couldn't help noticing the roses on subsequent viewings of that season, but what struck me early in my very first viewing of the anime was that the opening title animations for both seasons, quite naturally, featured Kate and Emilyko, but that second season's closing animation featured...
I think that's actually meant to be what's going on in that last panel, where Himawari is sitting up in bed, looking slightly bemused and startled, instead of sleeping - I assume the punchline is that Himawari just realized that instead of oversleeping, she's not going to be getting any proper...
+1 on a Yura chapter being a win! She's grown on me a lot since her introduction as the blowgun club president, and her early appearances teasing Rize and friends, and now I look forward to her chapters.
It wouldn't be the first time we've seen Koi use photographic reference art for...
Oh, I forgot another pair of characters who have gone through a lot of change since their introduction: it's easy to forget that our introduction to poor Lou/Louise probably gave all of us a bad impression, with the shadow half of the pair in particular coming off as vain and vapid.
I talked...
Oh, come on - let's be fair to Edward's friends at least: we really haven't seen Eileen or Gerald do anything especially villainous, other than hang around with Edward - certainly nothing bad enough to deserve the punishment that Ryan dished out for them.
Speaking of those other...
Thank you for another action-packed and suspenseful chapter!
Hey, Ryan really is a nice fellow, isn't he? I think we'll all be heart-broken, if anything should happen to Ryan, right?
(How many of us thought we'd actually feel sympathy for Edward and his friends, way back when they...
Wait, Sakurako and Boob-Chan AREN'T married? :sneaky:
(They did fill out a marriage certificate together as children in a flashback in the Oomuro-ke spin-off manga!)
And whatever one thinks of the gag, Himawari's challenges with waking up in the mornings have been brought up before as the...
Very glad to see a new chapter for this one, I've missed it.
And +1 to what @Flame-2-Haze said: her chapters are so understated, that I'd forgotten how much I enjoy Misaki's contribution to the humor and wholesomeness of her chapters - she's absolutely my favorite character in this manga...
Himawari does seem pretty happy about the situation in that final panel, though.
I had just said something earlier this week in regards to this manga and its spinoff about Sakurako and Himawari being the only regular points of crossover between the two mangas, and implied that these characters...
I think the big takeaway from at last seeing the third floor shadows in action, and from the little bit we do know about the Great Grandfather, is just how much we still don't really know about what has been going on with the third floor - there's virtually unlimited room for huge plot twists...
I don't necessarily think you're wrong that there might have been a benefit to relegating new characters to a spinoff, BUT to be fair about Yuru Yuri and its spinoff, that manga is a very different animal from Is the Order a Rabbit?
On one hand, Yuru Yuri's core manga really has almost no...
