Could be merely an implication. Until it has been confirmed, then the safest answer is “I don’t know”. Tia with the mithril sword is a lot stronger than the Tia which burned away her lifespan to fight off a dragon plus she was already significantly weaker at that point.

Is the web novel complete? Are Tia and Ed also in a platonic relationship in the WN? Would there be a scenario where the manga diverges from the WN just like how dragon ball super has some divergence from the manga?

Well that could be the case or it could pick up popularity and continue for a long time. The story has a lot of potential to be honest. The core of it is a rinse and repeat.

At this point, I would be fine if the author took creative liberties to diverge from the novels if it means we get this superior romance adventure story between these two goofballs.

I sincerely hope this is the case. Tia and Ed’s relationship deserves to be more than just platonic. The sacrifices they made in order to see the other is just too astounding for their relationship to just be platonic.

I hope they double down on the romance aspect. The manga has a Romance tag in it after all.
