It's funny because at the start of the manga it was clear that the dynamic was supposed to be "the two leads actually do like each other romantically and are a serious couple, they're just hung up over their breakups to acknowledge it". But at a certain point it seems like the author pivoted...

I mean, how do you even top this? It's what the manga has spent all its years building to and changes everything. Plus Nishi's dedicated to Ichi the Witch for the long term so that's another factor.

That Last Supper reference was pretty wild It feels like the author's gotten alot more bold with their art this last arc

All of Sho's dialogue feels like Naddy from 100 Girlfriends except played straight

Some fun callbacks this chapter Ichi walks by all their old spots Says goodbye to Nigorikawa on the blackboard Chi does her praying mantis impression that Yamada finds hilarious Anna holds her head up to avoid crying, just like in chapter one

Ok now it feels like this flashback arc was the actual first chapter that they didn't go with because it didn't have a big moment

Yeah I'm not sure how you balance this, this is final boss shit

It's funny that as utterly ridiculous this all is, the fact that we're still dealing with the same cast and conflict from the first chapters make it more consistent than some manga

More like there was no way a drama would actually have a middle schooler have a kiss scene with her adult co-star so it wasn't really a logical conflict.
