I admit, I really do like seeing a zombie story with this level of cooperation, and thought towards valuable information preservation and retaining.

Ah this chapter was a nice breather in the pacing- they're right, a break really is nice. I like these moments where the narrative slows down on one of these little meaningful conversations or days. It feels like when a particular moment winds up like a treasured memory.
