Inky does however choose what is IN THE BOOK, as he transforms the books into something related to what MC imagines.
So you could argue that technicality... as well as.... another REALLY BIG spoiler thing im not going to elaborate on.
The none spoiler reason is that the connection...
I mean....Yeah ?
A monkey paw is still going to grant your wish ( give them a benefit )
But it might just screw with them in doing so.... ( the side effects )
The original Monkey Paw Story is about somebody wishing for 200$ and got the 200$ as compensation for their son dying.
This is 10/10...

MC still believes she is a figment of his powers/system and not a real person despite being told otherwise is kinda sad.
The "awakened" version of Sword Maiden just about said "she was a real person"
But MC, because of his preconceptions, still has not fully grasped what that truth implies just...
The story is a 4/10
Ending is 1/10.
The last chapter is 17.5 , and the ending is nonexistent, so it was clearly axed.
It does end close to a story arc ending, but it just finished setting up the next arc and ends it straight on a cliffhanger that separates MC from the family we spent 17...
If that is what you want, may i recommend "All My Alter Egos Are Tycoons/My Avatars’ Path to Greatness"
MC has ( so far) not managed to gender-bend himself.
But his power is to make copies of himself that each become their own characters in various crazy ways.
So far we have :

All things considered, the ending is ....fine ?
It left a few big loose ends, but other then that its not terrible.
Story as a whole was pretty good too, but it does feel like an "plz read the novel for the full story"
