I think Nanao's big advantage here is that she just likes him. She's not concocting situations in which they have a destined love, or dreaming of marriage, or anything like that. She's into him and wants to see where things go, no more and no less. That means she's also way less worried about...
Nothing about the story so far indicates she's an unreliable narrator, either, except for the bits where she was trying to convince herself that Rei was totally fine and good and not neglecting her for years, which were pretty blatant.
