I really think people are more excited for subverting tropes than writing that makes sense. Honoka takes a back seat the entire manga and just gets handheld to the win, but it's ok because the childhood friend finally wins! Unbelievable.

The problem comes when the main group gets sniped then drops the scanlation as a result. Then we're left with a lower quality scan who very well could drop the manga after a few chapters. Then we'd be left with nothing. Happens a lot.
