Not gonna lie: I had totally forgotten this was an Isekai, the fact that he was an otherworlder had so little to do with the actual plot that it just slipped my mind completely.

You may be right but i feel this has always been the case in Berserk, Guts is not the "Struggler" for nothing, he is always the underdog, always fighting a battle he is most likely to loose, that's the feeling i got since i first read Berserk. Would be cool to get some power up, thought.
