Typical humans doing stupid things without respecting the consequences. It seems like there are practically no humans left on the planet. That majestic moth-snake kaiju ate them all.

Finally, the big reveal! What a great backstory. We get enough to have a sense of what happened and the nature of Alice, but a good deal is still mysterious.

This chapter was pretty cool. Alice is a force of nature, but we still have no idea what she is. Crazy shit is definitely happening outside now that she's made it out.

So the residents are more distorted the lower number they are? Since they've been in there longer, it makes sense. I guess that counts as body horror, but seeing the increasing insanity is more scary than seeing de-facto shapeshifters having weird faces, extra eyes, and so on. Alice is...

Finally, a resident who's not just a sob story. Aaand his only purpose was to be a convenient body reset and a cartoon villain "oooh, you'll never succeed" exposition device. The characters in this manga sure aren't fleshed out, but at least give this guy some backstory.

So it's not actual horror of any kind, just vignettes of people who refuse to accept reality and escape into fantasies? Kind of disturbing, sure, but pretty disappointing so far. I really hope we don't see all 430 rooms of this stuff.

For real. It's like she's a walking mannequin. This is either the worst character writing I've ever seen, or it's just some heavy-handed hints of "she's actually messed up as well".

All of this is quite stilted. Alice and Sepent don't behave like actual people, but maybe that's the point.
