Her saying she doesn't care either way is her saying she doesn't care about him either way, as well. Either she is lying to herself, or she is stringing this man along for her ends at his expense. I'm moving towards self-deception but who knows? It's manga after all.
MC is a dimwit. FMC is also a dimwit. Her friend is overbearing and over-eager to hit people. Honestly, if I was MC, the FMC's friend is more than enough reason to have nothing to do with FMC.
