This whole rank thing is stupid plot from the beginning. MC makes no effort to hide his abilities. "I don't want them know I'm strong, but oopsie I use a strong magic/abilities whatever".
Another silly logic, he can create a gate to a place he's visiting and planted a gate. Which he should easily make a temporary gate to put the kid back in the village in instant, then came back to engasj caste to finish the job.
