Just little small additional talk like that should have been in the movie. Ruriko and Hongo having a little bit of fun even they both smile and laugh really elevates their characters more.

Dudeeeeee this manga gave us the necessary context and moments that fleshed out more on Hongo, Ruriko, and other characters than in the movie

So it's not just SHOCKERS POV, this Manga further explores Hongo (and of course later Ichimonji) inner though. Man this manga is peak and a must read after you watch the movie.
