From what was said in the afterword (ch5.5), this manga was adapted from a light novel. This is where a good editor would have inserted themselves and remove this stupid arc.
Huh ?! This came out of left field.
We went from a slice of life focusing on cooking, to school drama to romance and now we’re on some mystery shit with a whole conspiracy theory ?! This ain’t it at all.
Vol 2 has been disappointing so far, and I can’t believe we’re being introduced this new...
Did it get axed ? The epilogue felt rather disjointed from ch.15.
This manga started really good, the premise was appealing , the gritty and sketchy art style added to the gloomy and intense atmosphere and the mangaka introduced a lot of interesting topics.
This could have been great but...
I totally agree with @zokoi19
That’s how I took it :
Because of her father’s (false) accusation, Miyo had to be a « good girl », a good villager. She had to force herself to be kind to them, to be submissive and not be vindictive despite all the bullying from the villagers. I think she was...
I think deep down, Ina is more concerned about Ankei than her father. She knows her father is strong and the « God of the forest / village », no one will defeat or kill him. But Ankei is just a mere human who’s hell bent on killing Daija. If he keeps going after his revenge, he’s most likely...
My monthly dose of wholesomeness and cuteness ! Thanks for the translation.
It’s cool to see Kobayashi so into astronomy even tho he doesn’t get it. He’s doing all this for Uno (I love their friendship).
Also really cool to see Mikawa senpai eased up a bit since last episode. He’s still «...
I’ve been wondering for a while now what the mangaka has in store for Ankei and Ina. She’s definitely building something but idk if it’s totally platonic or is she heading for a romantic relationship ?
In any case, all the characters have tragic backstory but Ankei’ past is fucked up.
Thank you so much for translating this manga. Every episode is so wholesome and heartwarming.
I’m happy to see another character join their team. Mikawa senpai seems to suffer from depression and other comorbidity, I want to see how his relationship with Uno and Kobashi will help him.
Damn, what did she do for not one, but three people to kill her on the same day ? They tried to kill her by any means necessary and they violated her body over and over (poisoning, strangling and defenestration).
I’m mad about Oliver, I was rooting for him !!!
Precisely, she faked the slap but in the first place David is behind bars, so fake or not she shouldn’t be able to slap him.
Idk if the author didn’t think it through or if it’s part of the plot, like maybe Oliver is aware that she fake it but didn’t say anything.
I’m just in awe at Nagabe’s talent ! I love all his works but with Smell he went full out. I did not expect to see dicks and sexual acts either, he never did that with his previous manga.
I freaking love Homin and Najung. I’m more invested in the (possibly) second couple than the main couple.
Probably because as individuals both are really cool, fun and relatable. And their dynamic is really interesting and quite unique.
