Cheap tension. Fake out deaths and fake struggles this early is not a good sign for the story.

The “Why hasn’t the mission ended?” And then one of them dies because they just stand around not being on guard or doing anything, is getting a bit old. I don’t know how much it’s has been done exactly, but it just seems like a lot AND like the characters should know better at this point in time.

We are watching the stakes of story slowly crumbling away before our eyes. The more death, or near death injuries are used as the crux of tension in the story, without following through with consequence, the stakes of the story will suffer and likely lessen the final produc.

They can’t keep saying eating isn’t necessary for survival in L.A.G while also having people dying from starvation. I get pulled out of the story every time either of those things are brought up. At first I thought the author retconned the starvation part, but I guess not. as the saying goes...

Unless the maze changes on it’s own as time go on, you should always just follow the wall and pick between either only turning left or only turning right.

Even if it got axe, all they needed to do was make him confess to her right after her confession and them getting together. That’s a way more satisfying ending which doesn’t even require more pages than we got.
