The Playground attracts people because you earn 5 million yen per win over an opponent while also getting to flex your style. I doubt most of the fighters in the Playground...
But it is the same Jack. The issue is that Shinogi isn't calling it quits or going down so Jack just keeps going. He's ALWAYS fought like that. It's just that he normally gets his ass beat, like with Motobe, or his opponent is a jobber like Sukune or Garland.

Deliberations not resulting in an extra fight for the tournie seems badly written. Alan was going to kill Raian before Raian decided to kill him. Raian just responded to that attempt in kind.
