Yeah I'd like to disagree on your opinion but uh... to each their own I suppose, though then why does other big websites have this feature? Youtube, github, reddit just to name a few.

I don't actually understand what that means... but from what I can see I assume that it takes 50~ seconds worth of communication between the client device and server just to completely load the page?

I find myself clicking the logo when trying to refresh the page so that I can update the "Latest Updates" chaps. This has happened multiple times, to me at least. I don't know if it's common for other sites or not. I do hope it's simple enough to implement though XD
