I quite honestly was a fan of the use of evil for everything in the long run. It made it feel both threatening and not at the same time. Plus things like evil jump is quite funny
I think this was meant to be more symbolic of just how many had died at the tower. Where's the point in hiding them if there's nobody else alive to see them?
