I'm pretty sure she acts that way because otherwise he would have complete control over the relationship. She seeks his presence more than anything and if she shows that too much, he is gonna be able to do whatever he wants - it seems like she isn't mentally prepared for that yet after the shock...
I agree with you. But it's still stereotypical, annoying to read and not what the premise of the series made us hope for.
