Could always enable data saver in the MD settings, it's device specific so you'll still get the full res glory on the pc but a bit more reasonable on the other devices

That already exists, in the local storage however, so stop clearing your site data all the time. Just double checked in an incognito tab, showed up the first time but not the second time i logged in.
