That was one of THE most contrived and nonsensical storylines I have read in a manga like this. Holy hell, I cannot even fathom what led to the creation of something this ridiculous. All so there could be a really dumb and silly dramatic moment between these two.

I am absolutely gonna hate when we're eventually caught up and I have to wait for single chapters every release. God this arc is so great!

I love this manga so much. I really fucking love how the whole series is about him exploring the world and learning about the various peoples, cultures and the culinary arts built around them and then at the end just wanting to bring food from Earth to build a new future and enrich the world...

The way this manga drums up drama sure is...something else, lol. The simple silliness that led to Ren being affected by the curse is so funny.

This arc has been a masterclass in how to absolutely ruin an otherwise enjoyable series. What kind of question is it to ask her "Why are you going so far"? As though her son isn't being held prisoner for no reason, is being tortured and is going to be killed? And then we get the nonsense...
