Original translator got DMCA forced to take all chapters down. Nobody can re-upload them legally. Result: new translations have to be done. Why start over, just start where last ones left off. Bad for mangadex because theres a gap in chapters but this way they dont get sued.

People get upset about two things main with translating. Poor quality translating - means another better translator will likely not bother retranslating. Sniping - uploading a translation before another group. You're not doing either, why care about what stupid people say? Dont worry about it.
