Its less reveres, and more like, he had no exposure to anyone, BUT his family. He doesn't understand taht his family is the exception, he thinks they are the base standard of the world.
As someone who has full on conversations with myself, his info dump is genuinely relatable. Sometimes is just sit down and go "damn. I graduated highschool, stuck with a dumb, low paying job. This sucks."
I like that the friend boundary is drawn here, I've personally, dumbly, thought that girls that acted like this towards me were into me, and have been friend zoned many times. MC is smarter than me lol.
