Yeah, I went back to check and noticed this. I wonder if this plot point was intended from the start (and she was just acting), or if this was just the author going "well Segrit's whole party doesn't have to be pro-Segrit, let's change this one up" (or alternately, since this is an adaptation...
I'm still liking the series, tbh. Though it is a bit funny to have a chapter about "oh no it's been so long, what if he dies while petrified?!" and having the reveal be "don't worry, it's actually a version of petrification that could last even longer!"
Her talking about how the tea tastes prickly reminds me of the manga about the demon lord lich/sage, where because he can't taste food anymore, his subordinates started giving him holy-enchanted food to simulate "spiciness" because of it trying to damage him.
It's kind of funny to have Hugo do the grand "my master" gesture immediately after being like "yeah I'm only sticking around as long as you pay me and if you don't I'm immediately out", seems like his master is more money itself than it is Noel.
That one girl's reaction to his win sounds like she's still not accepting it, probably because she "beat" him with her synchro golem when he wasn't even trying. I can only assume this is gonna cause her to pick a fight in the ancient forest, inevitably causing issues.
I'm kind of surprised we didn't get a reveal that she actually sensed his presence while he was peeking on her, due to her heightened senses, + recognized his presence here.
Fully expecting that once Vandalieu is done healing her, she'll suddenly somehow have regained all of her past attributes she'd had taken away (breasts/tail/etc) from how total the reconstruction was.
Oh boy, seems like the author's trying to set up for a "the whole Rainford family gets made up with because they still actually loved Carl and Carl loved them (including the grandfather)" end.
It's a little funny for Dwight to go "well they're just undead, so nobody will really give a shit if they get killed" while Grom's right there. I get that Grom likely has a much higher sense of self than rank-and-file undead, but stilla kind of funny thing to say anyway.
Also, the vibe of those...
