While the story beats are different from the novel, my best guess is he'll still be rated as having no mana after this arc and be expelled/quit and then he'll meet the "new group" who he learns that his mana is actually batshit insane from and start training seriously on how to use his powers...
That's not even covering the fact that "stopping penentration" =/= "stopping damage".
Anyone who's played paintball or airsoft knows how badly it can hurt to get hit even through layers of clothing. Getting shot in bullet proof vest can still leave bruises and even swelling and the pain can...
Given that they're 10, some of these jokes are a little off-putting. But it's funny and I like the dynamic being set up. Just, if the author wanted to make "lets go to the bed", "don't lay a hand on her", "I didn't mean to interrupt your intimate activities" style jokes, maybe he should have...
So, Big Sister found her and Jin's whereabouts are exposed. I wonder who will show up from Jin's past that's been looking for him? Given the conext of the mercs knowing who he his and saying that he "disappeared" and "no one knew where he went" it seems like at least someone is missing him. You...

yep, this is actually a plot point for the next arc iirc. That there are many politicians of Japan are trying to downplay the importance of adventurers since they don't want to lose power. It's basically manipulation of public goodwill.
I once had a family member go "It's only 1 Star, what's the big deal" and I tried to explain that even getting 1 Michelin Star was a huge fucking deal, let alone the maximum of 3. They thought it was like Google/Yelp Review Star Ratings...
He sure doesn't write like Kuro is his favorite. Every other character on that list has a more real relationship with him, including Makina who was introduced after the main story was complete iirc, both War King (who's name escapes me) and Lilywood both also had deeper relationships with Kaito...
