IT'S MAGIC. Actualy, alien tech level seems too disbalanced. For example, they can placed some tiny beacon, open gate and catch everyone they want. They can directly read and somehow write brains, and do that only once. But, the more this circumstance stupid seems, the more it looks like IRL is...
