Please be aware that I almost never read notifications/replies or messages sent to my inbox. It's nothing personal. It just takes me a lot of time to go through it all and I'd usually prefer to spend the time reading manga or doing something else, instead. If I do read (or respond to) your reply, then it's probably because you replied quickly enough to a post I just made and I happened to be logged-in to see it.

I don't like scanlation groups that beg for and accept monetary donations.

In my view, if readers have money to burn, they should send it only to the authors/artists who made the manga.
Not to scanlation groups.

Back in the day, this is how it used to be in most scanlation circles. The only time they asked for any kind of donation was to buy a RAW volume so they could continue to scanlate the manga. They did not beg for money just so they could spend it on themselves. And many of them didn't even do that. They paid for the manga out of their own pocket, and they did so because they loved the manga and wanted to share it with people who can't read Japanese. Scanlators of the past were better people than the scanlators of today.

Keep in mind, many people in Japan worked long hours thinking up a story, drawing it, and then publishing it. They didn't put in all that effort just so some random asshole foreigner could MTL their manga and profit off their labor. It's already bad enough that most of us readers never send money where it's due, but what's far worse is sending money to scanlators who have not put in even one-tenth of the effort that the manga artists/authors have put in. Send the money to those who deserve it most: The creators! It's only thanks to the content creators that scanlators even have something to translate.

On a separate note, I'm getting really sick and tired of seeing translators who don't know basic English grammar. Terribad translators who don't know English should not be trying to translate manga into English. Learn the language if you're going to translate something into it! Please!

I'm especially fed up with all the idiots who don't know how to correctly use the past tense with auxiliary verbs. Even elementary school children in my country know how to do this correctly. If you think the correct past tense of "Where does he live?" is "Where did he lived?" then you need to stop skipping your ESL classes because my words are directed at you. Learn how to correctly use auxiliary verbs in the past tense! 勉強しろよ、バカやろう!

Before anyone asks, "What's the big deal?" or "Why does it matter?" Remember, once you post a chapter, it's basically on the internet forever, mistakes and all. Other manga aggregator sites are going to pick it up, and you can't undo that. Any ESL readers who don't know English well and who come across your translation will read it and they won't realize that they're reading incorrect English, and as a result, they too will learn incorrect grammar.

For this reason, translators should always put in the effort to make sure they've fully proofread everything and their grammar is completely correct. Doing anything less makes you a shitty translator.

If any of the above words apply to you, then you are bad and you should feel bad. And I will call you out if I see you pooping out garbage-tier chapters laden with ignorant pidgin English. Either learn proper English or just stop translating, and keep your Engrish to yourself.
