And yeah i thought it was pretty obvious that momo was abandoned because she needs cooked food and her mom was poor.
I think they meant it more like how a lot of romcoms introduce a fuckton of other romantic interests while obviously having a main one. And basically will never go for the full harem route (keeping it as a "pseudo harem") but just have the other romantic intrests there for the entire story.
It really feels like a limbo-ish zone like it was with pseudo-harem. But thats a good thing, especially for this author it makes their interactions quite unique for the genre.
