Anyone else I assume will br characters from the game only used in the main story and not outside of it, i.e. “less important NPCs”

She is acting pretty dumb there. This is what happens when you overthink because you have a fast brain. Later she calms down and figures it out, after much deliberation. Many manga characters never make it this far and stop thinking after considering the girlfriend angle. She’s pretty smart
