This was a lot of ammo for a skirmish. While I doubt the liberation army takes prisoners, and they aren't even an army still some POW could have come in handy.

What a strange thing for a /k/ translation to call what looks like guns modeled after ww2 era submachine guns, an assault rifle. Also yeah don't expect local gigachad from prison to not shoot a human sized target at 400 meters with only with iron sights, it's just natural.
