Sites are defunct/no longer exist. It’s likely this guy just follows paid groups around, pays for access, saves everything, then when they go defunct, reposts it. I’ve seen a few of those happen from stuff he posts.

I had read that supposedly the artist/mangaka of the first run didn’t even bother reading the story and got a ton of stuff wrong; so the whole thing got canned. I wish someone would restart the TL of the webnovel.

They did drop new life + when all that drama about the author and his allusions to some war events came out.

(Last time I checked) One exception to your description here is that if you stop your membership - you lose access to download new copies what the DRM-free versions you paid for. So… download them before you cancel…. Or buy the subscription again, download, and cancel… it’s a known hole, but...

As someone in the USA who regularly buys manga and light novels: J-novel is nearly always cheaper than the competition; both before and after being forced into the coin system by their sale to whomever owns them now. Additionally, their quality is not nearly as bad as many of the competitors...

A lot of people complaining here about the manga glossing over a lot of content. Read the web novel and you’ll understand that it’s just the entertaining parts of the story.
