Well this was pretty good, though most of these comments complaining about Takeru probably need to reread the manga. It's pretty obvious she was falling for Takeru very early on, to the point where she was sexually fantasying about him multiple times.
He definitely wasn't always trans, the amount of disconfirm he had with his female form and feminine appearance proves that.

Probably because Yamada isn't a serious character while Asou is a character we are meant to take seriously, it also doesn't help that he's an 11th hour rival which is probably the least likable character in romcoms in general.

The issue is that they will often suddenly appear out of nowhere even though their characters would have done something previously. Basically the criticism is that they feel like they were just spawned in instead of being there the whole time
I do get it, it just annoys me since I have seen way to many people claim something is trans rep when it's not and if it was it would be terrible rep, (characters that were forcibly castrated for example is surprising common).
