Rereading the manga as a whole, I liked it a lot more because the whole thing is a slow burn, it's subtle in how Sagami and Musubu's relationship develops (which is also interesting because the setting is a condom research factory) - so the release schedule really sucks for it unfortunately.

There's a reason why I felt like this was quite a standout compared to other stuff that Yamamoto does, and you've nailed it on the head as to why I think that. It's like a Nichijou sketch.
It's interesting because I think early on I believed that tasuku did some immature things, like when he kabedon'd shia san out of nowhere that one time, that can still be seen as immature but now I also think that's just how his mind works.
