Terrible ending. He was killed because he cheated. That's fine. A high schooler (or someone around that age) tracked down 5 students, stalked them all until they were alone and then killed all of them before the police managed to stop him. That's some amazing detective work. Or maybe Japan...

It was a pretty interesting psychological read but I hated the ending. It feels like it's bordering on Deus ex Machina.

@BobBob Seems like it for the Oni but I'm pretty sure the Doume aren't a branch of humanity. That world had regular humans who had direct contact with their GM so I'm pretty sure they were the branch of humanity. That world probably lost to the Doume who evolved from something like the bears...

Wow such an unexpected plot twist... THE MAN MADE C RANK! Now he can live with his daughter! Here I was expecting him to struggle with living while losing everything due to desperately gambling in re-evaluations. Good on him. Sadly, nothing else noteworthy in this ch.
