i kind of feel like it got a little too enchanted with its own mechanics and drifted away from its strengths, none of the subplots or side characters were worth much. but the yoshitoshi abe-like art is really nice.
i quite liked it, when you read a novel for a long time it can feels like you're in the book and you see shades of it in your own life. the art is very nice too. the narrative is not interesting but i liked its wandering feeling.
lovely art and direction and i like the kind of aimless feeling. a lot of these stories have a rigid feeling that tastes a little bad. it likes to feature characters that are different and then treat them unkindly for it... kind of like persona 4 really.
what's the effective difference between being a good person and pretending to be a good person...? you can watch the last episode of haibane renmei for further reading
what an amazing manga - it's a modern classic. even saying that, i was a little disappointed with how the lion arc ended, but this was just a lovely ending. i wish it went on forever. excited for "supplemental books" !
