I am confused. Why do people talk about "triggering an evil cycle"? He's not a demon, so he can only be influenced into an evil cycle by Ali. There is nothing to "trigger" beyond pure human wrath.

I understand it is a trope, akin to the effects a fever has on the average japanese protagonist. I just think it is extremely stupid.
She is a serial killer. The killing doesn't have to bring justice to anyone, she only needs to think the person deserved it (by being a non-repentant murderer).
There's quite a difference between a y.o 6 and 30 y.o age gap vs 26 y.o and 50 y.o, even though both couple would be 24 years apart. The depicted age gap of... 16? (how old is this girl anyway?) and 40 is, at best, questionable in today's society.
