I think the weirdest part was the insistence on using the real world to criticize a fictional story that’s basically mini-dbz. That’s like reading a Superman comic and then going “Bah, lasers coming out of the eyes!?!?!? That cannot happen in the real world, this story sucks!!!!”
Btw, in case anybody reading this in the future is wondering, Daruma Hermit wasn’t just saying some random name. “Brocken Jr” is the name of a character in the Kinnikuman manga series.
It makes sense since the gourmet world is way more serious than the human world, but I do find it pretty interesting how the series went from “weird in a goofy way” to “weird in a trippy and kinda creepy way”
Pretty sure the “chinese kempo came from Indian martial arts” thing was debunked a while ago. That being said, overall yea, martial arts have been taking inspiration from each other for a while already. Nothing really new there.
Wasn’t her whole thing “don’t kill those there’s no merit to killing”? Why was it necessary to killing the girl? It’s starting to feel like the author is letting go of any semblance of a plot just for the sake of writing an edgy gorefest.
