The LN has been translated and released. I read it on Kindle. Its quite a nice change from the usual. It reminded me of how World War Z was written. Its after the events and the mysterious interviewer is going around asking questions. But there are also flashback sort of fragments which might be...
I thought the same thing! I just read the LN on Kindle and the first part is totally like that... But then there's a big plot twist and... Well, its a good story! Lots of "unreliable narrator" stuff going on too so you have to read between the lines.
I, as well, have bought many titles officially on Kindle and such because I saw them first at sites like this where I could preview them. Frieren is one of them.
Maybe the Darklord will recreate the demon realm as more of a pocket dimension attached to the town where they've been living so they can come and go as they please (with the unusual ending that Jahy will still commute from the dark realm to work at the pub!)
That whole Cold War/Spy x Family arc at the end before the hiatus was... out of place. I mean, complete with modern police uniforms with modern peaked caps for the "secret police" of the Northren Empire? I can see why the mangaka needed a break...
What I don't think those "teenage hottakes" referred to realize is that mutual respecting of copyrights is very much deliberately mentioned in any international agreements. Even in the 1952 peace treaty that normalized US/Japanese relations (I looked it up once because I'm a history geek)...
They can also argue duplication of artwork, unauthorized use of logos/trademarks/trademarked characters...
They'll come up with something, and they have more money to back it up.
It's interesting to see what got zapped and what didn't. Frieren is gone, no shock there as its one of the most popular titles lately. Isekai Ojisan is still there even though its been popular as an anime. Go Home Miss Akutsu got totally zapped though even though its just a goofy little title...
Arg! They made Mangadex delete all the translated chapter extras... those aren't even translated in the app! They're not even included there either... X-(
The sad thing is that Mangadex has always seemed to try and encourage you to read the offical thing, giving links to the official releases and such. I've bought manga volumes on Kindle and such just because I discovered the title here on Mangadex first! Its not like this is some sort of shady...
Woah, totally missed this chapter coming out.... Just like Kyoko! Personally, I don't think it would have worked on Jahy. Look how Druj resisted it. And Jahy-sama is the Demon World's number two!
