Kansaiben is the coolest imo. A local lady who runs informal tea ceremony sessions paired with home cooked traditional food is from Osaka and I always thought her accent was freakin' cool. At least in Japan most people think Kansaiben is super cute.
It's not that complicated. Yayoi was giving her an easy way to consent. Eyes closed = consent.
But "close your eyes if you want to" made it imply, at least to me, something like "feel free to close your eyes but I'm doing it anyway"?
I was so confused with what Yayoi meant with "you can close your eyes if you want to" on page 24. Finally checked the raws and it turns out it meant "close your eyes if it's not a no".
The author can't think outside their own culture. It’s highly unlikely a pom would ever say what Charlotte said on page 13 even if she was fluent in Japanese. The only excuse would be that she was just saying it to blend in with Japanese culture.

means Borderline Personality Disorder for anybody reading who isn't clued in to psychology.
