They aren't wrong, she has acted very impulsively and done some less than smart/mature things. Furthermore, being her friends, they are in a good position to judge her intelligence so...oof for catigrl.

Not quite, as these two seem shrewd and (somewhat) considerate of others. They're probably/hopefully going to give FL morale support, stop her from shooting herself in the paw further, and do little things from the shadows to bring them closer together.
